The "pipeline" of potential treatments for Huntington's disease has expanded rapidly in recent years, according to Dr. Jody Corey-Bloom, the director of the HDSA Center of Excellence for Family Services and Research at the University of California, San Diego.
Dr. Corey-Bloom spoke to the HDSA-San Diego support group on September 28. Approximately fifty people attended the hour-long talk, which outlined scientists' latest understanding of the HD disease process and the efforts of laboratories and pharmaceutical companies to find drugs to alleviate HD symptoms and even stop the disease.
