HDSA-San Diego congratulates Paula Farina, the winner of our 2009 Celebration of Hope Gala e-mail address opportunity drawing prize: a two-night stay at the exclusive Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel in San Francisco.
Paula was one of more than a hundred people to subscribe to our e-newsletter Conquest at our ninth annual gala on October 17, 2009, and automatically be entered in the drawing. Her lucky name was drawn shortly after the dinner.
Paula is a computer scientist at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific. She holds a Master’s Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and moved to San Diego from her native Connecticut in 2005.
Before attending the gala, Paula already wore a pink bracelet in honor of a cousin who died of breast cancer; a purple bracelet for her mother, a cancer survivor; and the yellow Livestrong wristband of the Lance Armstrong Foundation, dedicated to the fight against cancer.
She says she will now wear the blue HDSA bracelet too. In addition to the gala, Paula attended the 2009 annual Shoot to Cure HD.
HDSA-San Diego thanks the Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel for its generosity in providing this fine prize and also to HDSA-San Diego board member Allan Rappoport and Jane Rappoport for their organization of the drawing.
