Help for caregivers is available in Southern California!
Taking care of a loved one can be challenging, so it is important to remember to take care of yourself and to get support. The Southern Caregiver Resource Center (SCRC) is here to assist family caregivers of adults with chronic and disabling conditions, including Huntington’s disease.
If you are assisting a family member or friend with activities of daily living – from simply helping to pay their bills, taking them to doctor appointments and cooking meals to more extensive help such as constant supervision and assistance with personal care needs – SCRC is here to help.
SCRC has been providing services to caregivers in San Diego and Imperial County since 1987. It is a private, independent, non-profit agency. Most services are free of charge. Services include family consultation and case management, respite care, short-term counseling, support groups, legal and financial consultation, educational classes, the Caregiver-to-Caregiver Network, and the Space of Beauty program.
SCRC co-sponsors the monthly HD support group for caregivers, at-risk individuals, and HD patients.
Contact SCRC at 1-800-827-1008 or click here for more information and to schedule a consultation.
